Greetings, Space Warriors!

This is the ZORN Tech Demo, a first glimpse into the dark, noisy void that will eventually become a full game. It's short, rough around the edges, and absolutely not balanced for survival. But it moves in glorious 1-bit chaos.

ZORN is a fast, unforgiving space shooter built build from scratch in C. It's crafted pixel by pixel, and drenched in the smell of old hardware. Expect brutal minimalism and visual noise.

Every explosion, mugshot and particle is designed to feel alive (or at least alive enough to explode properly).

The Soundtrack is a raw mix of glitchy electro and analog synths, created with analog synths. Everything you hear is part of a living experiment that will evolve as the game does.

Downloads and system notes

Linux

Best experience right now. Unzip, make the file executable, run it. It’s a tiny 1-bit engine with no installer, so it should “just work”.

Windows

The build is not code-signed and ships with several packed DLLs. This can trigger SmartScreen or antivirus warnings. If you trust this project, you can run it anyway.

macOS

Also not signed. To launch: Right-click the app → Open → Open. Gatekeeper will allow it after this first run.
